About BWRT

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®) is a logical process designed to replace unhelpful and destructive thoughts and feelings with those you prefer to have. It is efficient and quick, highly successful, and you will be guided every step of the way!

It is often believed that changing thought patterns in the brain takes a long time, and achieving permanent change takes even longer. The truly exciting thing about BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®)  is that it works directly in the 'cognitive gap' before conscious awareness, so change is quick and natural.

Traditional therapies attempt to change thoughts at the 'thinking end,' similar to trying to turn off the water supply to a hose by adjusting the nozzle. While this might stop the flow temporarily, the pressure builds up, making it only a matter of time before the inevitable happens.

BWRT®, on the other hand, turns off the tap.

The core of BWRT® involves utilizing a naturally occurring brain state known as the 'freeze' response. Therapeutically, we induce a controlled, non-traumatic version of this state. We then harness the brain's primary communication processes from its early development to reorganize and neutralize the responses linked to the difficulties you are experiencing.

Client-focused and down-to-earth, BWRT® enables you to change your reactions to the stressors in your life so they no longer affect you.

Developed in 2011 by Terence Watts after 35,000 hours of experience working with clients, BWRT® is a solution-focused and evidence-based therapy with irrefutable empirical evidence.

"BWRT® has the potential to permanently change the face of psychotherapy. Lives are transformed in record time without the need to uncover the source of the dysfunction, resulting in virtually instant benefits for the patient..." - Dr. Ian Opperman, Clinical Psychologist, Johannesburg

"My deepest desire is to free you from any level of unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can live at your highest creative potential, filled with joy and peace. BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®) is the key, and I'm here to guide you through the process! To be STUCK and in pain emotionally, psychologically, and physically, is a type of prison too complex to explain with words. I've been there! And, I promise, you can naturally rewire your brain and be free!"

How does BWRT® work?

The core of BWRT® involves utilizing a naturally occurring brain state known as the 'freeze' response. Therapeutically, we induce a controlled, non-traumatic version of this state. We then harness the brain's primary communication processes from its early development to reorganize and neutralize the responses linked to the difficulties you are experiencing.

How does BWRT® differ from other therapies?

BWRT® operates directly in the 'cognitive gap' before conscious awareness, facilitating quick and natural change. It focuses on rewiring the brain's response to triggers, providing rapid relief and long-lasting results. Unlike traditional therapies, BWRT® does not require you to discuss traumatic events in detail.

‘BWRT®️’ stands for 'BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®️’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. It’s a totally confidential method that does not require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist and it is carried out in a completely conscious state. It does not use hypnosis or any concepts that might be considered mystical or unscientific - it’s completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and for it to succeed only needs you to know what you want to change in your life. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT®️ and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. Find out more at bwrt.org
